SELF ESTEEM & MOTIVATION HYPNOTHERAPY

Self esteem issues are something that the majority of people at some point in their lives face. Everything in life is learnt so we experience new challenges on a daily basis. Sometimes we just need that extra push, or someone to fill us with the confidence. Hypnosis is that extra push, that person in your ear telling you that your more than capable of achieving your goals. If you lack confidence, motivation or are just feeling low, after just one session you could feel so much more optimistic and determined to succeed.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.” (Nelson Mandela, 1994). This quote responds to how it is easier for humans to place limitations and block ourselves. Often, these blocks stem from comments made from other people, which then internalizes and becomes ingrained in our beliefs. We start to belief we can’t do something that it’s too difficult to achieve, or that it has to be done in a certain way or we are likely to fail.

The way that we think about things has an impact on our mood, anxiety and stress levels. Many of these thoughts occur outside of our control, and can be negative or unhelpful. It is therefore important to remember that they are just thoughts, without any real basis, and are not necessarily facts. Even though we may believe a lot of our unhelpful thoughts when we are feeling low, anxious or stressed, it is good to remember that they should be questioned as they are often based on wrong assumptions.

It is clear that doubting ourselves and thinking we aren’t going to succeed at something is probably the best way to fail before we’ve even started. So if that is the case, why do we have self-limiting beliefs in the first place? When you think about this more clearly, the answer is very simple: social conditioning. When we were babies or young children, did we have self-limiting beliefs then? If we did, then you would have never achieved things you have in life. When people tell you that you can’t do something often enough, you start to believe it and question whether you can. After-all, how can all these people be wrong and you be the one who is right?

Hypnotherapy can address these self limiting behaviours, it can help change your thought process, you can realise that your self-limiting belief is just a thought inside your head. Therefore, if you are able to think negatively about something, you can instantly change that to think positively about something.
