Phobias Treatment Manchester & Cheshire

A phobia is very acute anxiety that is specific to a place, object or situation, usually developed early in life phobias can cause people to use avoidance tactics which actually increases the anxiety levels, and the phobia gets worse.

The Subconscious is actually trying to help you by setting off the fight or flight response the problem is that most phobias are not dangerous and are in fact irrational so giving us adrenalin that has nowhere to go results in the person having a panic attack.

We are not born with anxiety or fear about the particular thing, place or situation therefore we know this is a learner behaviour, a learnt response that eventually becomes habitual if not resolved. Like all bad habits that we form these responses can be broken and replaced with a new counter habit. We cannot be anxious and relaxed at the same time this is physically impossible so by training your mind to relax in steps and stages you can cancel out those negative feelings of anxiety and replace the fear with feelings of being calm when faced with the phobia. Once confident with your own responses then the fear and anxiety will go completely.

The answer is all; even though the cause might be different the response is always the same- panic. Hypnotherapy is the most effective way to treat phobia’s giving you back your freedom. Here’s a list of the most common phobias that I treat-
